A.I. Powered Mass Customization

Skelmet mass customization design technology is based on your 3D face scan. Every frame design style is constructed by a series of algorithmically programmed curves. Each curve is autonomously modified based on your unique facial and head parameters.

The facial parameters extracted varies depending on the product design. In general, there are 11 parameters that are the most important. Face width, head width, nose height, nose width, ears height, ears position, forehead curvature, head curvature, pupil distance, brow position, cheekbone position.

Based on these unique parameters, the design algorithms autonomously adjust their input to generate the 3D product model that’s perfect for your face.

Each pair of glasses is designed to fit you and only you. They are made-to-order based on you 3D scan and personalization options.

You only need to take the 3D face scan once, and your model will be stored under your account in an encrypted database. Once the scan has been taken, you can order any custom products powered by Skelmet technology. And because every product is custom-fit for you, we offer you an 100% fit guarantee.

Most Skelmet frames are produced with State-of-the-art Multi Jet Fusion (MJF) technology. This 3D printing technique provides fast print speed, flexible yet strengthened material quality, and outstanding surface finishing.

MATERIALS

Premium 3D Printing Materials

Skelmet eyewear frames are 3D printed with PA12 nylon-plastic material. It has a very fine grain, resulting in high density and low porosity structures, as well as very smooth surface quality.

The structural integrity, heat properties, and skin contact safety measures have passed the highest ASTM industry standards.

The material has a very high reusability, leaving minimum impact on the environment.

LENSES

Highest Quality Sports Lenses

Skelmet uses only the highest quality polycarbonate and NXT lenses offering the following features: optimal clarity, lightweight, high impact resistance, chemical resistance and 100% UV protection.

Polycarbonate Lenses are up to 10 times more impact-resistant than plastic or glass lenses and they provide 100% protection from the sun's harmful UV rays. They are also lightweight, adding to the comfort of your eyeglasses, sunglasses, and sports eyewear.

Polycarbonate is a pure solid thermoplastic that starts as a solid material in the form of small pellets. In the manufacturing process the pellets are heated until they melt. The liquid polycarbonate is then rapidly injected into lens molds, compressed under high pressure and cooled to form a single finished lens. There is no layering.

NXT® Polarized Lenses are made of a polyurethane material called Trivex first developed in the 1990s for use in military helicopter and fighter jet canopies for its ultimate clarity, durability, ultra-lightweight properties, and chemical resistance. As a result of the success in military aircraft platforms, this high-quality material was brought to the eyewear industry in the early 2000s.

The extremely light NXT lenses provide a complete balance of visual and physical qualities and enables unbelievable durability and protection, along with high optical clarity. The polarized film enclosed between two layers of NXT® material promotes ideal clarity of vision and better efficiency against blinding reflective glare.

The base tint of the lenses are optimized for contrast, adaptive to different light conditions, and safe to use for driving. The mirror coating of our lenses are the most expensive on the market, ensuring the best colors and optical properties.

All of Skelmet lenses are equipped with anti-smudge, anti-reflective, anti-scratch, and anti-fog coatings, so they can perform in any condition.
