> Welcome to Skelmet’s online shopping website. To become our customer, you need to download our APP, called “Skelmet Custom Fit Eyewear” on iOS APP Store, and upload your head 3D scan.

> We know this may not be very convenient for customers. However, FaceID is the best solution we have to obtain an accurate 3D measurement of the head. You can get more information about the 3D scanning technologies in our Q&A section.

About the F1 Series
> Skelmet’s F1 series has a classic life-style look and sports sunglasses functionality. It fits into most sports and daily activities, such as driving, running, sailing, and golfing.

> Currently, we offer 8 variations of the front frame styles to meet different tastes. They are basically identical in terms of 3D Custom-Fit technologies and SAPM (Self-Adaptive Parametric Model) structures.

Skelmet’s 3D Custom-Fit Technologies
> What makes the F1 series truly unique is Skelmet’s 3D Custom-Fit Technologies. The foundation of this technology is SAPM, which stands for the Self-Adaptive Parametric Model. It defines the curve and surfaces of the product model and recalculates when the input parameters are changed.

> The SAPM of the F1 series has 7 parameters related with fitting to the head, including 1) lens width, 2) bridge width, 3) nose pad type, 4) front frame incline angle, 5) temple opening angle, 6) temple bending angle, and 7) temple length.

> We use artificial intelligence technologies to adjust these parameters of F1’s SAPM according to your 3D head scan. The design system will generate CAD files of the frame and lenses for each individual customer, and our engineer will perform a manual check to ensure a good result.

> Having the right size and proportions makes the sunglasses look better. The sunglasses stay more securely on your face when you are in sports activities.

> We offer the “Custom-Fit Specs” sheet, which demonstrates some detailed measurements and specs of your custom-fitted product.

3D Printed Frame
> The frame of the F1 series is made by HP Multi Jet Fusion 3D printing machines with proprietary High-Performance PA-12 3D printing materials.

> The official documents show that High-Performance PA-12 has the following features:
- High strength and durability
- Good impact resistance
- Professional finish
- Heat deflection 95C/203F
- Good chemical resistance

> We’ve run several tests on frames in certified labs with great results. And we’ve been using this material to make sunglasses frame since 2018 and have no issues.

> The F1 series uses Polycarbonate lenses, a perfect choice for sports sunglasses, with great impact resistance and 99.99% UV protection. The lenses are tested in a certified lab.

> Currently, all of our raw lenses (the uncut round lenses) are manufactures by Essilor, one of the largest lenses manufacturers in the world. We added Anti-reflective, Anti-smuggle film, Polarization film, and beautiful Multi-Layer Mirror coating. Here are the specs of current lenses used in the F1 series.

> The raw lenses will be cut differently for different users by our own machines. The edging path is determined by the CAD file of the lenses, which is part of the whole 3DCustom-Fit process.

Skelmet’s CROSS-LOCK ™ hinge system
> Skelmet’s CROSS-LOCK ™ hinge system used in the F1 series is specially designed for 3D printing materials. The system has a dual-lever structure and inter-locked with each other by a connector.

> It increases the contacting surface between parts, protecting the soft surface layer of the material, and making opening action very smooth.

> The connector is made of 316L Stainless Steel and coated with TiN (Titanium Nitride). This combination is extremely resistant to corrosion and wear.

> The CROSS-LOCK ™ is fully tested in a certified lab and is patent-pending.

Nose Pad and Temple Ear Sock
> The nose pad and temple ear sock are made of silicone rubber. It’s non-allergic and replaceable.

> The nose pad has two types with different sizes and shapes. And our design system will determine which type to use according to 3D head scan and statistic data. Please check out the information in the 3D Custom-Fit section.
